Originally released in 2000, Damned in Black launched the new millennium with IMMORTAL in ferocious form. With a demanding tour schedule pushing the band forward, bassist Iscariah joined as a full-time member, and the album marked his recording debut. Following the transitional epic At the Heart of Winter, IMMORTAL leaned further into that grand, expansive sound — but “slowed-down” is a relative term in their universe. Damned in Black restores much of the band’s trademark velocity without sacrificing an ounce of atmosphere, culminating in the colossal closing title track, the very definition of EPIC.
