Deicide - Serpents of the Light LP (color vinyl)

Making its first-ever standalone U.S. LP appearance, Serpents of the Light arrives newly remastered for vinyl and pressed on a deathly blue variant, housed with a lyric-printed inner sleeve and a 12” x 24” poster of the iconic cover art. This definitive edition gives the 1997 landmark the presentation it has long deserved.
Musically, the album captures DEICIDE at a pivotal moment, still ferociously uncompromising, yet sharpened by a clarity and focus that make its venom hit even harder. Glen Benton’s blasphemic tirades are delivered with slightly more intelligibility than on previous outings, and tracks like “Slave to the Cross” and “Blame It on God” even flirt with hook-laden structures, provided your idea of a hook resembles something torn from a slaughterhouse wall. Despite its more streamlined production, Serpents of the Light remains pure extremity: relentless, anti-religious, and unmistakably DEICIDE. Not for the faint of heart.
